LO’s 34th AGM: Proof of member involvement
A large, attentive crowd of members exercised their responsibilities by attending LO’s annual general meeting, held on Jan. 9, in conjunction with Congress.
In his farewell remarks, outgoing president Bob Tubby reaffirmed his prosperity message, emphasizing that true prosperity touches the social, professional and personal aspects of one’s life. He called serving as LO’s president, “a life-changing experience, one I would not trade for any other.” Executive director Tony DiGiovanni expanded on the prosperity message in his report, asserting that prosperity is a brand, and our mission is to connect all communication messages to position LO as a credible information source.
Incoming president Bob Adams reflected on the honour of leading a great association.
Five suggestions were made from the floor: to review and possibly modernize LO’s bylaws, to review the current chapter funding formula, to consider playing the national anthem at the beginning of future AGMs, to consider increasing the number of members required to make a quorum and to officially recognize individuals holding certification credentials at LO functions. LO’s provincial board is charged with considering action on these items, and reporting at next year’s meeting. Jacki Hart and Gregg Salivan were elected to the LO board as members-at-large.
