Snips Landscape featured for work on green roofs
Snips Landscape and Nursery in Welland was featured in Niagara This Week for its work with green roofs and walls.
The article centred around the company’s green infrastructure manager Alena Dawson, who spoke to members of the Port Colborne Horticultural Society about green roofs and green walls, and how they can provide an environmentally-friendly way to both cool buildings during the hot summer months and warm them during the winter months.
Dawson is quoted in the article, “We’re trying to be a more green company and lessen our ecological footprint.”
Snips began installing green roofs about five years ago. Dawson said they do most of the work in Toronto, where city officials have put an emphasis on green roofs.
