The Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) provides an opportunity for employers of businesses with less than 50 employees to invest in their workers to learn new skills.

The program provides direct financial support to employers who deliver short-term training to existing and new employees for up to $10,000 per person. Training must be delivered by an eligible, third-party trainer and be completed in less than 12 months. Other training expenses such as textbooks, exam fees and software required to complete training programs are also covered under the program. The employer is required to contribute one-third of the total cost of the training.

Started in 2014, the federal government has committed $192 million per year towards the training of Ontario employees until 2020.
