The Horticultural Technician Pre-Apprenticeship Program combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction, allowing students pursuing in-demand careers to earn while they learn.

This free training program gives you everything you need to get started — from safety gear, tools and PPE, Level 1 Horticultural Technician Apprenticeship training. The program is funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development and delivered by Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association.

Program eligibility

  • Must be at least 18 years-old.
  • Completed grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Be legally allowed to work in Canada.
  • Be unemployed or employed less than 20 hour per week.
