One easy technique that we love is colour blocking. You often see it used in the gardens at Canada Blooms. That's where you plant only one colour in a space for maximum impact. But, don't be afraid to mix hues in your plant palette as well. If you want to experiment with mixing colours, annuals are perfect for you. Annuals are a really small commitment, really. Just keep them watered and fed and they'll grow fast and fill in well. For more subtle colour variations, look at grasses, shrubs and trees. Even multiple shades of green can be really striking.Beyond the flower bed, you can paint your outdoor furniture bright colours. The bolder the better! Your front entrance, for example, is an easy space to add a bright splash of colour to, with a newly painted door or potted arrangement.
