High School Horticulture

At Glenview Park Secondary School in Cambridge, the landscape and horticulture program is alive and well with five to six classes of students each school year.

There are two ingredients required to operate a successful business. The first is the client, someone who will pay for the service or skill that you provide. The other ingredient is the employee.

Landscape Ontario continues to demonstrate why it is an industry leader in horticulture and landscaping education.

When students begin the horticulture class at Saugeen District Secondary School, they know their participation extends far beyond the walls of the school’s 1,500 square foot production greenhouse.

On Thurs., Jan. 10, hundreds of Ontario high school horticulture and landscaping students visited Congress in the name of education.

High school students are increasingly pressured by their parents to pursue careers in medicine, engineering, business and computers. For many, careers (particularly in horticulture) are stumbled upon through a summer job experience.
