Landscape Lecture Series to focus on diversity of gardens
This year’s Landscape Lecture Series features a landscape contractor and a landscape architect.
The annual event by Landscape Ontario’s Landscape Contractors Sector Group will take place on Feb. 25, at Paradise Banquet and Convention Centre, 7601 Jane St. in Vaughan. The evening begins with dinner at 6 p.m., followed by the lecture at 7 p.m.
Bartels is an owner of Cedar Springs Landscape Group, and runs the residential division. This award-winning design/build firm is based in Ancaster, and has been building unique residential gardens for over 20 years. Cedar Springs has recently expanded into both Oakville and Ottawa and Bartels runs the Oakville location. In his 20 years of industry experience, he has designed, sold and managed over $25 million worth of landscape construction.
Szczepaniak is a member of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects and the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects. An avid traveller, he draws inspiration from such sources as the historic homes and gardens of Europe and the landscapes of South America. His love of the Ontario landscape and an appreciation of fine art are evident in all his designs. He also devotes part of his professional time to giving lectures, hosting garden tours, and promoting the arts through benefit events. Szczepaniak has been featured in several newspaper and magazine articles.
Admission is $15 per person until Feb. 11, when pricing goes up to $25 per person. The subsidized price is available due to the generosity of the event sponsors: Beaver Valley Stone, Eloquip, Gro-Bark (Ontario), Sheridan Nurseries, Unilock and York Equipment. Registration is at www.horttrades.com.
