Dutchman Piet Oudolf is now one of the most talked about planting designers in Europe, with a reputation built almost entirely on his innovative work with perennials. His signature use of grasses, large blocks of planting, striking all-season interest and architectural slabs of clipped yew and beech can be seen in his many European projects as well as the Milennium Garden in Chicago and Battery Park City Memorial Garden in NYC. Published work includes Gardening With Grasses, Designing With Plants, and Dream Plants for the Natural Garden. Oudolf’s first Canadian design, in collaboration with Martin Wade Landscape Architects, is scheduled to be built at the Toronto Botanical Garden in 2006. Visit www.oudolf.com
