Grounds maintenance (GM) – A person responsible for keeping outdoor spaces clean, safe, and attractive through tasks like mowing, trimming, planting, and debris removal.

This new two-part introductory seminar is for the novice or grounds maintenance employee who would like a
refresher/review of areas within the (GM) sector the types of careers within it and how to get there.

Part one covering

*Equipment and tools

*Yard Work: Safety, Preparation, PPE (basics)

*Site Inspections: What to look for when arrive/on/leave property: tailgate

*Botany 101: All types of plants, bulbs, weeds, perennials, shrubs, trees, etc

*Importance of Plant ID

*Bed Maintenance: Spring/Summer/Fall Maintenance Requirements
