The Ministry of the Environment Conservation and Parks "MECP" requires that a technician successfully complete, every 24 months, a course approved by the Ministry for technicians regarding basic pesticide safety.
Two industry administered basic pesticide safety courses have been approved for technicians by the Ministry. These courses are administered and offered by two industry councils, the Pesticide Industry Council (PIC), and the Pesticide Industry Regulatory Council (PIRC)
Each council conducts annually, a quality assurance check on each others Pesticide Technician program. This audit is to assure the quality of: the examination process, the practical component of the pesticide safety training, and the quality of the delivery and administration of the program.
As a condition of your Technician certification, as issued by either PIC or PIRC, you are being requested to complete the attached quality assurance questionnaire. Additional comments can be provided, if necessary, in the "other" option for all questions. The Ministry is requesting your cooperation in completing this questionnaire so that your comments can be used to ensure the continued quality and success of the program. All information will beheld in strict confidence. Thank you for your prompt attention in responding to this questionnaire.
