You Grow for Everyone Else—What About Your Own Well-Being? Landscape and horticulture professionals contribute to community health and well-being through their work. Yet in an industry that is seasonal, intensely demanding, and fast-paced, how intentionally do we draw on nature’s benefits to support our own mental health?
As a Registered Horticultural Therapist, Guinevere Kern brings a lens that connects horticulture, health, and leadership. Many types of landscape teams already work in environments with proven mental health benefits; therefore, this session focuses on providing language and awareness of these benefits to intentionally leverage those conditions for broader application within and outside the workplace.
Participants will gain practical strategies to make greater use of these everyday resources, sustain their own capacity as leaders, and consider how a health-informed approach can benefit their workplaces and beyond. Please come prepared to share perspectives and experiences through reflection and group discussion.
