Toronto, Ont. (March 23, 2012) – Feature Gardens are the highlight at the 16th edition of Canada Blooms, the Flower and Garden Festival, running from March 16 to 25, 2012 at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place. Many of these Feature Gardens have been presented with awards for their outstanding creations.
“The creativity of the garden builders impresses me more each year,” said one of the Feature Garden judges. “I feel fortunate for the opportunity to view each garden in detail; I am constantly inspired and amazed by the imaginative designs.”
“The Feature Gardens are really the show stoppers of Canada Blooms,” said Colomba Fuller, artistic director for Canada Blooms. “These gardens exhibit some of the most imaginative and innovative trends of the new season, which is what Canada Blooms is all about.”
The Feature Garden Award winners are:
On Thursday, March 22, at a ticketed special event, Canada Blooms announced the 2012 winners for the Judges Choice Award for Best Overall Garden as well as the Evergreen Brick Works SEED (Society Education Environment and Design) Award, the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (O.A.L.A.) Award of Excellence and the Universal Access Award, coordinated through the Advocate for People with Disabilities, Parks, Forestry and Recreation, City of Toronto.
