Keynote Session

“The Power of Reset” — Fail Better, Grow Stronger

Ed Hansen

This session blends practical frameworks, real-world examples, and short exercises to show how to: recognize when a reset is needed, design small, strategic restarts, and convert failure into sustained progress. Drawing parallels between shifting landscape and environments that demand clarity and endurance (snow world), Ed explains how different contexts and mindsets require different reset strategies — from iterative course corrections to full-system reboots.

Attendees will leave with  momentum for recovery, tools to reduce fear of failure, and a simple process to embed regular resets into team and personal routines.

Who should attend:

  • Leaders, Owners and managers guiding teams
  • Individual contributors seeking better recovery habits
  • Entrepreneurs and creators working in uncertain environments

Lithium-ion Battery Hazards and Fire Safety Session

Adam McFadden of Firehouse Training

This session will focus specifically on lithium-ion battery hazards and fire safety for landscaping and horticultural professionals, particularly those using handheld and battery-powered tools and equipment. Attendees will gain awareness and practical strategies to help reduce risk and manage emergencies involving lithium batteries in the workplace.

The session will cover:

  • Understanding lithium-ion battery chemistry and fire behavior in landscaping tools and equipment
  • Recognizing early warning signs of overheating, off-gassing, or potential battery failure
  • Safe charging, handling, and storage procedures for batteries used in trimmers, mowers, blowers, and other tools
  • Proper disposal and recycling methods for damaged or spent batteries
  • Fire suppression tactics and first response procedures for thermal runaway incidents
  • Conducting site-specific safety audits and battery risk assessments for shops, garages, and work vehicles
  • Current safety standards, codes, and best practices related to lithium-ion battery use in the workplace

MTO Safety Session with Tri-Shield

The Tri-Shield consultants will host a session that focuses on the rules and regulations of commercial motor vehicle operation. This will be an open session for questions/answers with a demonstrative opportunity to go over key topics like trip inspections.
