Ottawa Chapter - Day of Tribute

Each year before the November 11 Remembrance Day ceremonies in Ottawa, the Ottawa Day of Tribute event takes place to honor and celebrate Canadian veterans. It was created by Sharon Rouette-Urquhart of Green Unlimited in 2005 to give back to those who have served our country. The event uses the landscape and horticultural industry's expertise to beautify and maintain properties while honoring those who have served.

The event has seen great participation from many sector group members in Ottawa, including grounds maintenance, lawn care, designers, garden centers, irrigation, landscape contractors, arborists, horticulturalists, and students.

Event Information

  • Registration will close day of
  • Looking for 20-30 volunteers
  • If you are able to bring with you any of the following, it would be greatly appreciated
    • Aerator(s), rake(s), leaf blower(s), seed spreader, grass seed, fertilizer

Timeline

  • 7:30 AM - Registration, light breakfast food, coffee and tea
  • 8:00 AM - Opening Remarks by Pete Campbell and Nicolas McCarthy, Beechwood Cemetery
  • 11:00 PM - Lunch & Departure
