On July 30, a team of Landscape Ontario’s staff stepped out of the office and into the field for an insightful day visiting several member locations. Through guided tours, the team gained a deeper understanding of the dynamic green industry they proudly support. The day was filled with meaningful connections, engaging conversations and valuable insights that strengthened their appreciation for the people and businesses powering the industry.

The first stop was Aldershot Landscape Contractors in Burlington, where Justin DeLuca led a passionate and informative tour. He was supported by Lisa DeLuca, who warmly welcomed the team, and Bill DeLuca, the company’s founder and one of the pioneers who helped form Landscape Ontario in 1973. The company showcased its versatility through both its construction and maintenance divisions, demonstrating the scope and depth of its operations.

Next, the team visited NVK Nurseries in Dundas, where Case and Brent Vanderkruk guided a bus tour through their large facility. They proudly shared the nursery’s intricate systems and sustainable practices, all aimed at cultivating a greener future.

At the Miska Trailer Factory in Hamilton, Jessica Di Marino and Paul Burns led an engaging tour of the production facility, demonstrating how their trailers are built and how they support professionals across the green sector.
The day concluded at Creative Landscape Depot in St. Jacobs, where Blake Sicard, LO’s Waterloo chapter president, led a dynamic tour. Sicard highlighted how the company serves both contractors and the general public, emphasizing its commitment to quality, community and service excellence.

This immersive experience not only enriched the staff’s industry knowledge, but also reinforced the importance of continued collaboration and communication with member companies. It was a day of learning, appreciation and connection that demonstrated Landscape Ontario’s ongoing commitment to supporting and understanding its diverse and dynamic membership base.

Landscape Ontario would like to thank the members who spent time to host staff on the tour and to Justin Kole, LO membership engagement specialist, for organizing the event.
