The Burlington Chamber of Commerce recently announced Aldershot Landscape Contractors co-founder and past-president Bill DeLuca as its 2025 Distinguished Business Person award winner.

A respected figure in Burlington’s business and philanthropic communities, as well as a pioneer of Landscape Ontario, DeLuca has shaped more than just landscapes throughout his career; he has shaped a legacy. From growing a small family business into an industry benchmark, to his contributions to local institutions his leadership has left a lasting mark.

A lifelong resident of Aldershot, Ont., William (Bill) DeLuca is a visionary entrepreneur, respected community leader and trailblazer in Canada’s landscaping industry. In addition to his role at Aldershot Landscape Contractors, he is president of Aldershot Landscape Maintenance and Burlington Tree Farms. DeLuca has built a multi-generational business that is widely regarded as a gold standard in the field.

DeLuca’s career began with a strong foundation in both economics and horticulture, having studied at Western University and the University of Guelph. What started as a family operation in a basement office has grown under his leadership to deliver high-profile landscape projects across Ontario, Quebec and Alberta. He is known for his relentless focus on quality, a positive workplace culture and an unwavering commitment to keeping promises.
It’s these values that have shaped his success for more than five decades.

A past president of the Ontario Landscape Contractors Association and a founding member of Landscape Ontario, DeLuca is the only contractor ever named an Honorary Member of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA), a reflection of the industry-wide respect he commands.

Beyond business, DeLuca has made a lasting impact through his philanthropy and civic involvement. He is a lifetime donor to the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation and served as chair of the fundraising campaign for the Aldershot Escarpment Garden at the Royal Botanical Gardens.

DeLuca’s commitment to family and succession planning has brought the next generation into key leadership roles within the business. Today, semi-retired, he enjoys winters in Florida, mornings with his coffee mates and time in his beloved gardens.

DeLuca will be honoured during a special event at the Burlington Convention Centre scheduled for Oct. 9.
