LO seeks educator participation in the OLMP

LO seeks feedback from horticulture educators

Funded by the Government of Ontario, Landscape Ontario is undertaking a Labour Market
Information Research project to address the lack of awareness of specific career pathways, in-demand jobs, and growth opportunities within the industry.

The main deliverables that this project will provide includes:
1. Identifying the top 8-12 most in-demand occupations in the landscape and horticultural profession in Ontario
2. Developing occupational profiles of those top in-demand occupations
3. Creating a digital career pathways map

The research, and tools developed will be made available on a new website called “Discover Green Careers” that will present the information so that educators, guidance counsellors and employers can inform and engage students, job seekers, and workers about career prospects, employment, and advancement pathways in the industry.
A useful resource can only be created with valuable input from our educational partners and their
students.  We will be conducting Secondary & Post Secondary focus group consultations and
interviews (online) to inform the project so that all information, tools, and resources are presented in a meaningful way to you and your students.

As an educator, you will be asked to seek insight from your class from time to time as well. We will
also ask you to support on-going evaluation of the website and career self-assessment quiz.

We appreciate your willingness to participate by providing feedback to support the success of this
important project.
