Our Industry, Our Community

Tariff increases on both sides of the border, talks breaking down and changing trade conditions are affecting businesses across the landscape horticulture industry. Amid this uncertainty, it’s worth remembering how much of our industry is built on relationships. These relationships connect businesses, expertise, ideas and opportunities across borders.

For decades, the landscape trades have grown because Canadian and American businesses have worked side by side. Our supply chains are closely connected, with products, plants, equipment and other inputs moving between the two countries at different points along the way. What happens at one point in that chain can have an impact much further along.

Our relationships go beyond what we buy and sell. They bring together different experiences and perspectives, create opportunities to learn from one another and help businesses respond to the challenges that affect us all.

Landscape Ontario is proud to help foster these connections. We create places and opportunities for professionals and businesses in the industry to come together, whether to learn, exchange ideas, showcase products, build relationships or tackle shared challenges.

We’ve been through disruptions before — currency swings, supply shocks, a pandemic — and every time, the thing that got our members through it was each other. We lean on our relationships and our sense of community in times like these.

That’s why Landscape Ontario will keep showing up for the people who show up for this industry. That’s the community we believe in, and that’s the community we’ll continue to build.
