Guest speaker: Michael Albanese

Motivated by sustainable use of rain water as a valuable and usable resource, Michael is edicated to returning the urban water cycle to a more natural state.

During his time at the University of Waterloo he gained a passion for physical geography, water sustainability and ecology that led him to the issue of stormwater management where he has been obsessed with it ever since.

Focusing around researching and applying modern Low Impact Development strategies at varying spatial scales to both new and retrofit sites. Incorporating landscape design elements that work to intercept, infiltrate, and/or store rainwater on site. It's RAINSCAPING! The end goal is to design with nature in mind to create beautiful, modern, and sophisticated landscapes which make our world BETTER.

Michael is currently working as a private consultant as AVESI Stormwater and Landscape Solutions delivering custom rainscaping solutions
