Headshot of a young woman with long hairRunning a landscaping business comes with ongoing expenses, from fuel and materials to essential gear like work boots — and those costs can really add up! Many Landscape Ontario (LO) members may not realize how much they can save on everyday business expenses through the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association’s (CNLA) member savings programs, which are available as part of your LO membership.

Which members have access to the program?

Green Trade, Green Trade Sole Proprietor, Green Trade Supplier and Green Trade Chapter Supplier members of LO have access to the savings programs.

Who can I contact to initiate a program?

The Member Services team at CNLA: memberservices@cnla-acpp.ca or 1-888-446-3499.

Where can I access the savings programs?

Through the CNLA member portal at cnla.ca/login.
Contact the CNLA Member Services team (above) if you have not been set up with an account.
You can also see an overview of the many cost savings programs available at cnla.ca/become-a-member#memberbenefit.

I have only ever used the discount on vehicles; what other benefits are there?

While vehicle savings are valuable, the CNLA Membership Savings Program offers significant benefits for year-round operational costs that easily surpass the annual cost of membership. Members save on fuel at major gas stations, including 3.2¢/L at Esso and 5¢/L at Petro Canada. A business that uses an average of 1,750 L of fuel per month at Petro-Canada can save over $1,000 a year. There is also a variety of smaller-scale savings discounts, such as on Lenovo products and Michelin tires. A full list of savings can be found on the membership portal or through the member services flyer.

What about the vehicle program? I’ve heard that savings have decreased in recent years.

The vehicle fleet savings program was adjusted during the COVID-19 pandemic to reflect the economic climate, and the CNLA membership team has worked diligently to rebuild the program. Members can now save $11,250 on a common GM model, such as the Chevrolet/GMC 1500 Crew Cab (Non-1WT/1SA). There are multiple companies to choose from, including Isuzu Truck, Stellantis and Nissan.

To begin your vehicle purchase, simply reach out to the CNLA member services team. They can provide you with the eligible vehicles and current savings.

Are benefits available to my employees?

Many CNLA benefits extend to the staff of the member company. Employees can access valuable discounts at retailers, including Mark’s Wearhouse (save 10%) and Travelodge (save 16%–20%). A complete list of all employee and owner benefits is available on the CNLA member portal.

If I already use a service that’s part of the member savings program, can I still get the discount?

For many of the services, yes! For example, members get 25% off Square software subscriptions. If you’re already a subscriber, the CNLA team can connect you with a representative to see if additional savings would apply.

Are there any restrictions on the number of programs I can use?

Not at all. Members are encouraged to take advantage of as many programs as possible. Whether you’re looking for savings on business and financial services, vehicles and equipment, industry training, travel or insurance, these benefits are designed to significantly reduce your everyday operational costs and maximize the value of your membership.
