The Muskoka North Chapter is exited to invite landscape contractors, designers, hardscapers and irrigation and lighting specialists to join us at Drag-A-Tote event presented by Futurescape Landscaping, where we come together in the spirit of hope and generosity to make a positive impact.

Come on out, bring your staff for a day of learning and fun.

Join us for expert-led talks, meet with suppliers and then have your team compete in fun challenges for bragging rights and great prizes.

Enjoy a drink, live music, and freshly cooked Porketta through the event.

Landscaper Competition

This contractor competition (minimum of three teams and a maximum of six) will compete across three events to beat the best.

  • Event 1: Drag-a-Tote Challenge
  • Event 2: Hitachi Excavator Rodeo
  • Event 3: Landscape Ontario Landscapers’ Olympics

Each company will designate one competitor per event a Tote Dragger, an Excavator Operator, and a Landscape Olympian. Note: the same individual may compete in all three events if the company chooses.
Points will be accumulated across all three events, and the company with the highest total will be declared the overall winner.

Steve Beaton, Parts and Service Manager at Futurescape Landscaping, brings decades of experience in forestry, soil science, and environmental management. With a strong foundation as a Forest Technician, he has spent much of his career evaluating soil health, biological productivity, and sustainable land management practices across diverse landscapes.

Passionate about education and industry development, Steve later taught Soil and Water studies at Sir Sanford Fleming College, combining classroom instruction with hands-on field learning. His practical expertise and commitment to knowledge sharing have helped shape future professionals in forestry and environmental fields. Problem solver, mentor, and steward of sustainable land management.

Joe Salemi, Executive Director of Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association, is a dynamic leader committed to the advancement and prosperity of the landscape horticulture sector in Ontario.
